In the early 1970s a certain "Bobby Mayne" made his debut at the old Immaculate Heart gym on Washington in Phoenix, teaming with Henry Pilusso, the veteran from Mexico. When promoter Kurt Von Steiger moved back into the Phoenix Madison Square Garden, this newcomer followed and became an instant draw.

Often he worked as a tag team partner to Jody Arnold, Mitri The Arabian Assassin and Chris Colt, but appeared in singles matches as well, many of which turned into bloody, wild affairs. So hated was he, that he managed to help turn vile rulebreakers Kurt Von Steiger and Ron Dupree into overnight fan favorites following doublecrosses in the ring.

Some his opponents during the Bobby Mayne run included Tito Montez, Chief Big Heart, Jimmy Valentine, Ron Dupree, Kurt Von Steiger, Al Madril, Nano Ortega, The Afa & Sika Anoai& Eddie Lopez.

Eventually he headed out of Arizona, returning a few years later, with Bobby Jaggers as his monicker. The fans of course recognized him right away, when he made his entrance at an NWA card in Phoenix, to face Moose Morowski, and let him know, most vocally, he had not been forgotten.
